An important step when troubleshooting network and connectivity issues is collecting packet captures. A packet capture copies the IP flow information between a target computer and any computer or other network device that communicates with it. The capture can then be analyzed to identify network problems or track communication patterns. In this video, we look at how to create a packet capture using the Azure Network Watcher packet capture tool. We start by reviewing the configuration settings and requirements. After that, we move on to a demo where we create a packet capture on an Azure Windows virtual machine and review it with Wireshark, a popular network protocol analyzer.
